The Whirlwind DA-2 is a professional active audio splitter and distribution amplifier designed for clean, reliable line-level splitting in demanding live and installation environments. In standard stereo mode, each input feeds four isolated, actively balanced XLR outputs. Engage the COMBINE switch to route both inputs to all eight outputs, turning the DA-2 into a flexible 1- or 2-in, 8-out distribution hub. Each output features its own level control and clip indicator for precise gain staging, while front-panel signal-present and clip LEDs provide instant system status at a glance. A switchable headphone monitor allows quick soloing of either channel for fast, accurate troubleshooting. With a 20 Hz–20 kHz ±0.3 dB frequency response, +22 dBu maximum levels, low 0.004% THD at 1 kHz, and excellent 90 dB CMRR at 60 Hz, the DA-2 delivers pristine audio performance. Inputs and outputs are on active, balanced XLR connectors, and an optional ISO-8 transformer isolation unit is available for applications requiring galvanic isolation. Powered from 115 VAC, with a 240 VAC model (DA-2X) also available. Ideal for splitting feeds to multiple amplifiers, zone locations, or recorders in touring, theatre, broadcast and installed systems.
