Sony’s CNA-1 is a compact network adapter and protocol converter that streamlines camera control across mixed broadcast ecosystems. It bridges legacy and modern control paths, enabling operation of ARRI AMIRA cameras from Sony RCPs, including older 8‑pin serial panels and current IP-based controllers. By converting Sony 700PTP to and from Simple Protocol, the CNA-1 promotes smooth interoperability with third‑party devices while retaining the vast majority of standard Sony camera control functions. Beyond protocol translation, the CNA-1 also provides serial‑to‑IP and IP‑to‑serial bridging, bringing non‑networked products onto IP infrastructures and making it simple to expand or add additional camera chains as projects grow. For centralised control, the unit can act as the “master” within Sony’s PC‑based MSU software (HZC‑CSM10), removing the need for dedicated MSU hardware in suitable workflows. Ideal for OB, studio, rental and live production environments, the CNA-1 delivers reliable, flexible connectivity where consistent camera painting and shading are required across mixed brands and generations.
