The Sonifex RM-2S4 is a professional 1U rack‑mount reference monitor designed for accurate listening and dependable level metering of up to four stereo sources. It accepts both analogue and AES/EBU digital audio with sample rates up to 192 kHz, automatically detecting the signal type. Two high‑resolution 53‑segment LED meters offer seven selectable scales and display modes, with a dedicated phase display and comprehensive alarms for under/over level, phase errors and loss of digital lock. For critical assessment, the RM-2S4 provides Dim, Mute, Mono, phase invert and Mid/Side listening. Built‑in speakers feature a DSP‑controlled active crossover, Class‑D amplification and active DSP EQ for precise, balanced reproduction in a shallow chassis, with a limiter to protect drivers; connecting headphones automatically mutes the speakers. Additional tools include a balance control, 5‑band parametric EQ for room compensation, and remote control/monitoring via USB and RS232 with support for Sonifex SCi software. Expansion options allow additional input cards, making this a flexible choice for studio, OB and broadcast racks where reliability and accuracy are essential.
