The Imagine Communications VSG-401 is a compact, half-rack test signal and sync generator for 3G/HD/SD-SDI workflows. Part of the Compact Monitor series, it delivers four SDI test signal outputs with selectable format, frame rate and signal type, plus embedded audio on up to 16 channels with group and global amplitude/frequency control. Two AES outputs are provided, with one switchable to wordclock or DARS, alongside two sync outputs offering blackburst or tri-level sync and a reference input that accepts either blackburst or tri-level sync. Operators can add a source ID of up to 19 characters and apply a moving bounce block to most patterns for motion verification. The VSG-401 is easy to deploy and manage, with Ethernet for firmware updates and intuitive browser-based control. Its universal 110/220 V internal power supply and lightweight design suit mobile or fixed broadcast and post-production environments. Supplied with a 19-inch rack tray for neat installation. Ideal for broadcast facilities, OB trucks, post-production, and QC suites that require reliable test and reference signals.
