The Golden Age Project R1 ST is a passive stereo ribbon microphone designed for natural, three-dimensional capture with classic ribbon warmth. Featuring two figure-of-eight capsules in a fixed Blumlein array, it delivers an immersive stereo image with superb phase coherence, making it ideal for room ambience and ensemble recording. With a frequency response of 30 Hz to 18 kHz (±3 dB) and the ability to handle up to 160 dB SPL at 1% THD, the R1 ST excels on loud sources while retaining the smooth, detailed character ribbon mics are revered for. Sensitivity is rated at -52 dB (2.51 mV/Pa) with a 600-ohm output impedance, suitable for quality preamps with ample clean gain. Built robustly at 70 x 330 mm and 4.56 kg, it is supplied with a shockmount, connection cable, splitter box with dedicated left and right outputs, and a protective transport case. Perfect for orchestras, choirs, piano, drum overheads, and acoustic ensembles where depth and realism are essential.
