The Golden Age Project R1 ST is a passive stereo ribbon microphone built for natural, three-dimensional capture with classic ribbon warmth. Two figure-of-eight capsules are arranged in a fixed Blumlein configuration to deliver an immersive, highly coherent stereo image that translates room tone and ensemble balance with impressive realism. With a frequency response of 30 Hz to 18 kHz (±3 dB) and the ability to handle up to 160 dB SPL at 1% THD, it remains composed on loud sources while retaining the smooth top end and detailed midrange ribbon microphones are known for. A sensitivity of -52 dB (2.51 mV/Pa) and 600-ohm output impedance suit quality preamps offering plenty of clean gain.
Engineered for reliability at 70 x 330 mm and 4.56 kg, the R1 ST ships with a shockmount, connection cable, splitter box with dedicated left and right outputs, and a protective transport case for secure handling and storage. It excels on orchestras, choirs, piano, drum overheads and acoustic ensembles, as well as room ambience where depth, width and realism are essential.
