The Dan Dugan E-1A is a professional automatic mixing controller that keeps multi-microphone events clear, stable and intelligible without constant fader moves. Connected via mixer insert points, it uses real-time gain sharing to open active microphones and smoothly attenuate the rest, delivering transparent crossfades without the pumping or chatter associated with gates. The E-1A offers eight channels of unbalanced analogue I/O and expands to 16 channels via ADAT, operating at 24-bit resolution and syncing to 44.1/48 kHz clocks for consistent audio quality. Multiple units can be linked to scale up to 128 channels for larger systems. Compact at 9.5 inches wide and 1U high, it integrates neatly into racks and mobile rigs.
