The BSS Soundweb London BLU-160 is a powerful, open-architecture DSP designed for demanding installed audio systems. It features four card slots for fully configurable I/O, accepting a range of analogue and digital input/output options, including AEC and telephone hybrid cards, each providing four channels. At its core is BLU Link, a 256-channel, low-latency, fault-tolerant digital audio bus that runs over standard Cat5e cabling up to 100 metres between devices, with optional fibre conversion extending distances beyond 40 km. Configuration is handled in HiQnet London Architect, with intuitive drag-and-drop design and a comprehensive library of processing and logic objects. Front panel LEDs and display provide quick access to status, device identity and metering without a PC, while 12 control inputs and 6 logic outputs simplify integration with GPIO-based control. Robust clocking and sync options support AES/EBU and S/PDIF workflows, and per-channel phantom power and gain make input management straightforward.
