The Black Lion Audio Bluey is a mono FET compressor inspired by the famed “Blue Stripe” unit from Chris Lord-Alge’s collection. Faithfully capturing the vibe of the original while adding modern flexibility, it features a Cinemag replica of the UTC output transformer and a blend control for instant parallel compression. Attack is continuously variable from 20µs to 800µs, with release adjustable from 50ms to 1200ms, letting you dial in anything from punchy grab to smooth control. Selectable ratios of 4:1, 8:1, 12:1 and 20:1 can be combined for creative dynamics shaping, and the switchable VU meter keeps gain reduction and output in check. A rear-panel link socket allows two Blueys to be coupled for true stereo operation. Housed in a rugged 2U, 19-inch chassis with IEC mains inlet, the Bluey is built for professional studio and live racks alike.
