The Black Lion Audio Bluey is a mono FET compressor inspired by the legendary “Blue Stripe” unit made famous in Chris Lord-Alge’s studio. It blends classic character with modern control, featuring a Cinemag replica of the original UTC output transformer for rich, musical tone. A continuously variable attack (20µs–800µs) and release (50ms–1200ms) give you precise dynamics control, while selectable 4:1, 8:1, 12:1 and 20:1 ratios can be stacked for creative compression flavours. The onboard blend knob delivers instant parallel compression without patching, and a switchable VU meter lets you monitor gain reduction or output level at a glance. A rear-panel link socket enables true stereo operation when paired with a second unit, and the rugged 2U, 19-inch chassis with IEC mains inlet is built for professional racks.
