The Barco XLD 5.50–8.50:1 is a long‑throw zoom lens designed for select Barco 3‑chip DLP projectors, ideal for venues where the projector must be positioned far from the screen. With a flexible 5.5–8.5:1 throw ratio, it delivers large, sharply focused images from extended distances, making it an excellent choice for auditoriums, stadiums, houses of worship, and large conference spaces. Precision optics support high‑resolution playback with consistent brightness and crisp edge‑to‑edge clarity across the zoom range. Throw ratio helps determine placement: distance = image width × ratio, and image width = distance ÷ ratio. For example, at 30 m throw, this lens can produce an image roughly 3.5–5.5 m wide, depending on zoom setting. This allows you to optimise screen size without relocating the projector.
