The Soundcraft Si Expression 1 is a compact digital console built for fast, assured mixing in live and installed environments. Sixteen motorised faders with clearly illuminated channel strips give instant access to core parameters, backed by clear metering and four mute groups for swift operation in low light. Four onboard Lexicon effects engines deliver polished reverbs and delays, while BSS graphic EQ and dbx dynamics provide precise tonal shaping and control. Despite its small footprint, the desk supports ambitious shows with up to 54 mono and 6 stereo inputs and 31 flexible buses. I/O is comprehensive: 16 XLR mic preamps, four TRS line inputs, 16 XLR bus outs, AES I/O, Word Clock, MIDI, BNC lamp and HiQnet (RJ45) for integration and remote control. An expansion slot enables Dante, MADI, AES/EBU, Aviom, CobraNet, RockNet, BLU Link or FireWire/USB with ADAT recording, and the ViSi iPad app extends control to FOH or stage. Portable and rugged, it’s ideal for live music, theatre, houses of worship and corporate events.
