The Whirlwind DA-2 is a professional active audio splitter and distribution amplifier designed for dependable line-level splitting in live sound, theatre, broadcast and installed systems. In standard stereo mode, each of the two inputs feeds four actively balanced XLR outputs. Engage the COMBINE function to route both inputs to all eight outputs, creating a flexible 1- or 2-in, 8-out distribution hub. Each output provides an individual level control and clip indicator for precise gain staging, while front-panel signal-present and clip LEDs offer instant visual status. A switchable headphone monitor lets you quickly solo either channel for fast fault-finding. With a 20 Hz–20 kHz ±0.3 dB frequency response, +22 dBu maximum output, 0.004% THD at 1 kHz, and 90 dB CMRR at 60 Hz, the DA-2 delivers clean, consistent audio performance. Inputs and outputs are active, balanced XLR, with an optional ISO-8 transformer isolation unit available where galvanic isolation is required. Mains operation is 115 VAC, with a 240 VAC variant (DA-2X) available. Ideal for feeding multiple amplifiers, zones, recorders or OB racks with confidence.
